Results of Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) Testing on Final Product

The product glass formed two distinct states; primarily amorphous or primarily crystalline. The change in state is due to the rate of cooling of the molten glass. During the demonstration molten glass was collected in ingot molds, each holding approximately 800 lbs of material. Rapid cooling produces the amorphous state; slow cooling, or quenching, produces the crystalline state. ALRC evaluations indicate the mechanical properties of each phase are essentially the same; further testing by Clemson has confirmed this.

The results of the TCLP testing were excellent. Both forms of the glass performed well. All of the eight metals being considered in the TCLP test were essentially non-detectable.
