Claudia Teaster Cordray, author of Common Cents Program
Claudia Cordray has a combination of business and education experience uniquely suited to developing the Common Cents program. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has a Master's degree in Computers in Education from Lesley College. She has been an Elementary School teacher and is certified in Early Childhood and Learning Disabilities with 22 years teaching experience. She also has done extensive coursework in the area of emotionally handicapping and educable handicapping conditions. The training in these areas originally influenced the development of this behavior modification based system.
She is also one of the co-developers of the successful reading program “Sequential Teaching of Explicit Phonics & Spelling.” She and a teacher partner established a business to promote and implement this innovative method of teaching reading. She and her husband Michael are owners of an agribusiness “Cordray’s Venison Processing Company ” which has become one of the largest in the state of South Carolina of its type.
The behavior system Common Cents ties together the educational world and the business world to help the student and the teacher succeed and enjoy the learning process.
