ALRC is an important vitrification research institute for the Department of Energy (DoE).  It has the personnel, equipment and experience which makes it unique.  They have an over seven year vitrification project list which includes work for the Hanford and Idaho sites, as well as several commercial interests.  ALRC has processed over 80 tons of material, including dredge, hazardous wastes, flyash, biosolids and mixed (hazardous and simulated radioactive) materials.
